What Do You Want to Create?

photo(1)Every time I visit an art show, I see something I love and think, “I want to make something like that.” Then I jump back into the flow of my life and realize I don’t know how to do that.

This often happens with goals and intentions I have for myself. I have a vision, yet no idea where to begin. I move into default mode, putting something I know will bring me fulfillment to the back burner.

That was boring me, so I figured out a way to move my ideas forward and wanted to share that with you.

Imagine that you are Picasso, Da Vinci or Warhol and you’re creating a masterpiece called Your Life. You are the artist of your life – creating and manifesting whatever you desire.

As an artiste you must first, gain clarity on your desires.

What are the stunning successes you want to create?

You, and only you, get to choose—this is not your mother’s, father’s, lover’s choice, or your inner critic’s choice. This is your choice—make it a conscious one!

There are a variety of ways to accomplish your yearning.  If you’re a visual kind, create a collage or treasure map of your vision.

If you are an auditory person, speak your vision to a coach or other supportive person. You may be kinesthetic in your approach, preferring a hands-on, active exploration for meaning.

However you begin, the following tools: a positive attitude, strong support system, and checkpoints help you determine if you’re on track with your goals.   These tools are as important as is clarity on your goals.

Our attitude is the canvas with which we begin. Starting the day with a positive attitude gives us a healthy perspective, moving us with ease towards our vision.

Do you see the glass as half full or half empty? In Man’s Search for Meaning, Viktor Frankl says,   “…everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”  Choose your attitude!

The second tool, a strong support system, is crucial – we are not meant to do this alone! It feels good when someone asks you to support them, doesn’t it?  What is getting in the way of finding the support you need to create the masterpiece of your life? Get some!

Last but not least, set up checkpoints along the way. Step back and take a look at your progress. Celebrate all of your accomplishments, no matter how small. Notice how you are feeling along the way. Plan your work and work your plan. These are the tools you will need to allow you to create the masterpiece that you will enjoy for many years ahead.
